Band Bio
For six years now , Macaroon has played to appreciative audiences all over P.E.I. ranging from soft seat theatres to outdoor festivals. The group has made a name for itself by offering energetic traditional music with rich vocal harmony. The bands founding members Nancy MacDonald and Mark Rooney, met through a background in traditional fiddle accompaniment. Shortly after that Marks wife Stephanie joined them to make the singing trio complete. Macaroon has criss-crossed P.E.I. throughout recent summers playing upwards of 40 performances each year. In 2005 , Macaroon recorded a successful CD that landed them a nomination at that year's PEI Music Awards. Though a new baby for the Rooneys and off-island employment commitments for MacDonald have changed Macaroons landscape , this Summer they are delighted to welcome percussionist and vocalist Scott Kaye , who will certainly add a new dimension to the stage. Macaroon is excited to be back at the Peake's Wharf Summer Concert Series this year and invite folks to come down to the waterfront on Sunday Afternoons to hear them perform.For that matter , come 7 nights a week to hear all the great talent !
